Another Friday, another Cartesi Weekly. Let's get into it 🐧 A new CLI alpha is out and it's a meaningful step up: configuration problems are caught before startup, so there's no mid-session debugging when something's missing. Swing by our Discord for the command. Withdrawal testing is now available on Devnet, so the full withdrawal flow can be verified before going live and users can recover funds from a foreclosed app without surprises. Config files are now supported for the 'run' command, and a compatibility fix ensures the inspector endpoints keep working with the latest node version. This 2.0.0-alpha.35 release is aimed at core developers and testers, so feedback is welcome. GitHub release here: The Rollups Explorer is also updated to v2.0.0-alpha.3. It now warns before sending transactions to foreclosed apps and adds status indicators showing the state of any application at a glance. Small UX change, real difference when testing in the wild: Recently, contributors also deployed fresh alphas of the rollups contracts and the PRT dispute system to the Sepolia test networks, with everything now verified on Etherscan for full transparency on what's being interacted with. Contract addresses are published and ready to use. One note for builders: the ‘DaveAppFactory’ address varies by network, but everything else is deployed to the same address across all supported chains. Grab the deployment addresses from the rollups channel in our Discord: discord.gg/cartesi Also making the rounds this week: contributors shipped a Combinatorial Information Market demo built on Cartesi. Real-world forecasts don't exist in isolation. Inflation affects interest rates. Elections shape policy. A team winning its group reshapes the bracket. The demo models these connected variables as a single probabilistic system using deterministic, reproducible inference on Cartesi. Conditional forecasting. Exact probabilities. Junction trees. This is what serious onchain computation looks like: In ecosystem news, two Cartesi Foundation board members, Felipe Argento and Brandon Isaacson, stepped down this week to start building on Cartesi. Both shared their reflections publicly, and they're worth reading. Felipe Argento put it plainly: nobody is going to grasp what this stack makes possible from a diagram. They'll understand it through a product that's actually great. Brandon Isaacson pointed to the same opportunity from a financial perspective: the math, the risk models, and the complex logic TradFi runs every day are all possible on Cartesi, which means all of it is now possible on Ethereum. The people who know this stack best chose to build on it. See what our co-founder Erick de Moura had to say: ICYMI, we also put together a proper reintroduction this week in a quick infographic. Save it. Share it: And on the media side, Joao Garcia joined Web3CMOStories to talk about what DeFi's next infrastructure layer looks like. Linux onchain. Real computation. App-specific rollups. Give it a listen: That's all for now. Have a great weekend and keep building! Repost:

Real-world forecasts don't exist in isolation. Inflation affects interest rates. Elections affect policy. A team winning its group reshapes the bracket. This is a combinatorial information market demo built with deterministic, reproducible probabilistic inference on Cartesi. A Combinatorial Information Market represents connected variables as a single probabilistic system. Instead of treating forecasts as isolated markets, it captures the relationships between them. That unlocks conditional forecasting too: "What if inflation stays above 4%?" Under the hood, CIM uses a junction tree to perform exact probabilistic inference efficiently. Related variables are grouped into cliques connected by shared variables. Belief propagation computes exact probabilities by passing information between these local clusters rather than operating on one massive joint table. Explore the docs and build with Cartesi: Repost:

Simulating token price mechanics entirely onchain. 🐧 Contributor Shaheen Ahmed just vibe coded a bonding curve inside the Cartesi Machine with a Python backend. This is a real building block for DeFi pricing mechanics or token economics. The secret ingredient is the open cartesi skills file. Plug the Cartesi workflow into Cursor or Claude and you can build complex logic just like this. Check out the demo on X too and and share the wisdom:

It all started with a simple prompt: “Build me a Cartesi app. Make no mistakes.” The results are seriously impressive. It shows how quickly you can build complex Web3 logic with AI, while leveraging the flexibility of a full Linux runtime. Watch the build and share the wisdom:

Friday's here and so is your Cartesi Weekly 🐧 On the contracts side, Cartesi Machine Solidity Step v0.14.0 is now live. This release updates the machine-related onchain smart contracts to be compatible with Cartesi Machine Emulator v0.20.0, keeping the full stack aligned as infrastructure matures. Speaking of the emulator, we put together a deep dive into what shipped with Machine Emulator v0.20.0. Months of engineering work went into how proofs, performance, and security are handled. The thread breaks down every change and why it matters: Building DeFi apps that handle real data on the EVM is hard. Luckily, with Cartesi, builders can use the libraries they already know. The latest tutorial shows how to leverage Pandas to bring Python's data manipulation power onchain. Bookmark it: The execution layer conversation keeps getting louder. Cypher amplified our article breaking down how protocols are forced into compromises, what changes when you remove those limits, and why Cartesi's approach speaks for itself: World Art Day passed this week and we couldn't fail to mark it with some original digital art complementing the ultimate form of art: code. See here: Cashtags took the X feed by storm and $CTSI was right in the mix. We always love to see you tagging us. For more of that energy, take a stroll on CoinMarketCap community and show us some love there too: That is all for this week. It's build time everyday though, the penguin said so. Another week of heads down building brings us to your Cartesi Weekly. Let's look at what happened across the ecosystem this week🐧 On the development front, contributors have been busy. The core team pushed Rollups Node v2.0.0 alpha.11. This release is entirely focused on throughput, operational tooling, and stability. By introducing round robin scheduling, the node now ensures fair processing across all applications, preventing any single heavy dApp from starving others. It also ships with a brand new CLI diagnostic tool for direct onchain inspection. Alongside the node update, Rollups Contracts 3.0.0 alpha.3 went live. The major addition here is preliminary support for emergency withdrawals, plus important refinements to machine Merkle roots for claim events. To tie the new node infrastructure together, a fresh alpha for the Cartesi CLI was also released. It integrates the updated rollups explorer and is ready for core developers to test. Grab the alpha, run the flow, and drop your feedback in our Discord so we can refine the production release. We wrapped up Q1 by asking you which Cartesi capability matters most to your builds. The results are in, and the Full Linux environment took the clear lead with over half the votes. We also kicked off April and Q2 with a clear reminder of our fundamentals. Linux execution. Ethereum settlement. No jokes, just shipping. Catch up with the explainer thread to brush up on the architecture here: Zooming out to the broader landscape, L2BEAT published their March ecosystem update. They highlighted our recent infrastructure upgrades, improved developer tooling, and the ongoing educational push surrounding Linux based execution. As a reminder, we are consistently expanding our content reach. You can always catch our latest updates and articles on CoinMarketCap, welcoming developers to the Linux era of Web3. DeFi is everywhere, from lending and perpetuals to prediction markets, and they all depend on one thing: reliable price oracles. Adding that to your Cartesi app is simple. Check out this video to see what the architecture looks like when you integrate a Chainlink oracle. See it in practice here; deploy the Oracle Reader contract, connect it to your Cartesi app, and with a single click the full flow kicks in: Chainlink fetches the ETH price, attaches a timestamp, and forwards everything to your Cartesi app. One interaction. Endless possibilities. Resources: Props to Idogwu Chinonso and the DevAdvocacy crew for putting this together. Want to explore the tech further or ask them questions? Head to Discord: Repost:

No Real Math, No Real Finance. Our DevAd Lead Joao Garcia hits the nail on the head: imagine a bank that rounds everything to the nearest dollar. Unfortunately, that is often the reality of DeFi today due to computational limitations. But there is a fix. A performant execution layer like Cartesi brings the processing power needed for complex math, unlocking the true potential of onchain finance. Without floating-point math, models must be simplified or approximated, which affects pricing, volatility, and risk calculations. With Cartesi, models can more closely reflect real financial behavior. Come down the rabbit hole with Joao:

Once again, if it’s Friday, it’s Cartesi Weekly with your latest ecosystem updates 🐧 New Cartesi CLI alpha for Node v2 is out, bringing improvements that make development smoother, safer, and more reliable. It adds better encoding for easier smart contract interactions, fixes template creation to reduce friction, updates Docker requirements for consistent builds, and provides ready-to-use application templates to help devs quickly start experiments. This release is for core devs and testers only, but if you want to dive in, find it here: 10 reasons why DeFi can benefit from a better execution environment. Learn what Cartesi brings to the table and why it matters in the quest to bring more complex financial systems onchain, on par with TradFi. Article written by our DevAdvocacy Lead, Joao Garcia: Explore all contributor writings in our blog’s dedicated space: Speaking of articles, Cartesi also got a nice feature in Datawallet, covering everything about the architecture, with build examples (including Locale Network), token utility, and more. Check it out here: As with every beginning of the month, the L2BEAT recap is out, collecting the latest news from partners over the past month. See our section here: On the community side, don’t forget you can also find us on CoinMarketCap, where Cartesi has its own Community Feed and dedicated content: Markets will test us. But building is our answer. We'll keep shipping through it all. Repost:
